CAN HUMAN REASON EXPLAIN THE ORIGIN OF REASON ITSELF?
Human reason is one of the most remarkable abilities we possess. Through it, we investigate the universe, discover scientific laws, and search for truth.
But here is a deeper question:
If human reason is merely the product of physical processes, how can we be certain that it is capable of discovering ultimate truth?
Can reason fully explain its own origin, or does the existence of reason point us toward a deeper source of intelligence and wisdom?
Islam invites us to reflect, question, and think deeply about creation.
The Qur’an asks:
“Do they not reflect upon themselves?”
(Qur’an 30:8)
Perhaps the greatest question is not simply how we think, but why a universe exists in which thinking is possible.
